Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist
This coverage covers you or a person in your vehicle if the vehicle is
struck by a person with no insurance or not enough insurance. Recommended.
Medical Payments
Pays medical expenses incurred as a result of a car accident.
Recommended even if you have health insurance.
Coverage Required by Law: Liability
Bodily Injury Liability. Pays pain and suffering, medical expense and
wage loss (general and special damages) sustained by someone as a result of the negligence
of the insured driver.
Property Damage Liability. Pays for vehicle repair or replacement and
loss of use sustained by someone as a result of the negligence of the insured driver.
Optional First Party Coverage: Collision. Coverage to repair the
insured's own vehicle, less the deductible. Collision coverage dollars are paid if ever
only for repair or replacement of the insured vehicle itself. If the vehicle is financed,
the lender will require collision insurance. If the vehicle has substantial value,
the owner may want collision insurance whether or not the vehicle is financed. |
