The Stratosphere in Las Vegas is a hotel, tower and casino located on the Strip in Las Vegas. The tower of the Stratosphere is the tallest observation tower that is freestanding, and holds the title of the 5th tallest structure in the US at 1,1140 feet. The Stratosphere was opened April 30, 1996 and is one of the most popular landmarks in Las Vegas. After the opening, the Stratosphere Company was forced to file for bankruptcy and construction on their second tower had to stop in the middle of being partially built. By June 2001, the second tower was completed.

At the top of the tower you’ll find 3 thrill rides and 2 observation decks which look out over the strip. Big Shot, Insanity, and X Scream are said to be the highest thrills in the world. There is also a 360 seat revolving restaurant, “Top of the World” and a controlled bungee jumping ride called SkyJump Las Vegas.

There are two outside pools at the Stratosphere. On the 8th level, there is a resort style swimming pool with a 67,000 square foot deck, jacuzzi, and a poolside bar & cafe.  Outside of the 25th floor is Beach Club 25 which provides amazing views of Vegas. To entertain you while staying at the Stratosphere, the Theatre of the Stars hosts “American Superstars.” The American Superstar show has many celebrity impersonators, while their show “Bite” is a more sensual show.
